Finding what makes you click in Life

Throughout my life I have had a difficult time trying to figure out what it is that I want to do in terms of a career for the simple reason that I just have too many interests; such as Music Production, Digital Art creation, Content Creation, Social Media Enthusiast, Interior Design, Architecture, and the list goes on. Where does one really find your true calling, that spark that gets you excited to wake up and do the same thing everyday if you have so much interest? What becomes a hobby and what could be turned into a career?
Ive always dreamed of doing my own thing. I have had jobs working for others in retail and hospitality and over time I've realised that I can make my own decisions and run things the way that I want to while creating a life for me that brings me joy. Times are hard now days. Cost of living is increasing every day. Might as well enjoy these times we have here on earth by doing something meaningful and fulfilling.
After going to three seperate universities studying Computer science, Media studies and Finally Spatial Design, I realised my calling deffinitly lies within the design sector. I knew that once I finished university, finding a job would be difficult. I still didnt know which part of design I wanted to branch off into. I struggled for about 3 months looking for interior design jobs or similar jobs that I would find interesting. The problem was that I either didnt have over 5 years experience or companies just didnt even bother to look at applications. I took some time to reflect on life and I believe that we are all unique individuals made to be colourful human beings and that we are all capable of doing wonderful things that we never thought could be possible.
So after University I thought OK, there has to be something I can do by myself to make a living. I explored the world of TIKTOK LIVES. I didnt realise how much money one could make through Live videos and this got me pretty motivated so I started promoting hundreds of artists and the music that they create because I understand the difficulty of getting ones music exposed in the world without having to pay hundreds of dollars just to get music onto spotify playlists (Which ends up being a scam anyway). Although I did have a thrill of having individuals tell me that they loved the idea of me promoting their music and after doing it for about a month the idea became stale. I didn't find any fulfilment in it. So I ventured off into doing LIVE TIKTOK games which suprisingly got more views and attention, but still the idea became stale and my phone battery died way too quickly. I then moved into doing TIKTOK LIVES experimenting with creative science experiments (milk, food colouring and dishwashing liquid). The coloured swirls that were created really got me wishing, "If only there was a way to capture or freeze these coloured swirls so that it can be looked at forever". It was at that momet that I realised what was missing in my life. I had a yearning to create things with my hands. To physically design and make things with my hands. I loved doing these kinds of things during my university practice. To feel textured objects, to look at it, stand back and feel proud of what I have created. It was at this moment that I said "Hmm I need to look into Epoxy Resin"
I ended up looking at various epoxy resin designs on youtube and I felt a spark within me begin to ignite. I got excited and wanted to dive into the world of epoxy resin so I ordered my first epoxy resin starter kit with 3 coloured powders and a few beakers and 2 silicon moulds and immediately started experimenting. After creating my first pendant I looked at the pendant piece and its unique blue swirls piercing through the lighter blue and green pigment and thought "this is it". This is what I want to do. The possibilities are endless. Theres so much that I can create and design using epoxy resin. This is the start of my new career journey and although I have just started, I know that starting my own business can be challenging but nothing is impossible for those who have that spark and a will and determination to reach further heights.
I now feel a sense of peace within my mind body and spirit after 6 months of endlessly stressing about my future career. I am now ready to walk this road for as long as the stars in the night sky shine and I'm so excited to where it'll take me and the designs I will come up with.
So my advise to you is If you ever find yourself in this positon not knowing which path to take in life in terms of a career, start with the first thing that comes to your mind and keep branching off from there. Eventually you'll find what you've been looking for. Remember that it's your life that you have to live, and only you will know what brings you joy and fulfillment. Do it today or you will keep circling back wondering how it would have been if you just took the leap of faith and pursued your dreams. As one of my favourite quotes from Jesus in the TV series 'The Chosen' says; "If not now, when?" ^_^
